LSGTPA 2018 Season Kickoff in Cooper

The 2018 LSGTPA tractor pulling season is off to a roaring start, after the Season Opener event held in Cooper, Texas.  As a feature of the Delta County Fair & Junior Livestock Show, the event would host pulling teams from across Texas and surrounding states, in two rounds of LSGTPA pulling competition.  A very well prepared track was provided by Rocky Young and RY Construction, and fans would brave cool temperatures to enjoy the action.

Opening ceremonies would feature an outstanding National Anthem performance by area talent Kristi Oats.  The LSGTPA Youth Class competitors would take to the 200' track first, with Tatom Robinson taking the win aboard his 'Lil Digger' machine.  Kayden and Seth Wilbur would share driving duties aboard their newly painted Sears Suburban, taking second and third place positions.  Lane Duncan would pilot his 'Texas T-Rex' tractor to a fourth place finish, and would place his 'Twisted Kitty' tractor in fifth, after suffering some new clutch issues aboard both machines.

In Stock Class action, Claude Lewis would take the win in a close battle.  Kody Langham would pilot his Longhorn Express Pulling Team machine to the runnerup spot.  In Hot Stock Class, Madison Pellerin would take the crown, piloting her 'Instigator' tractor to the victory.

In Stock Diesel Class, Patrick Bramlett would pilot his 'Warthog' tractor into the top spot in the class.  Jeff Robinson would debut his newly acquired diesel entry, scoring a runnerup finish in the event, just feet behind the winner.

In Big Stock Class competition, Jerry Toland would claim the stop spot aboard his 'Triple Deuce' tractor.  Patrick Bramlett would run his 'A Muck' tractor to a runnerup posting, with Kody Langham steering his way into the third place aboard his 'Texas Thunder' entry.  Tyler Van Beber would score a fourth place finish in the class.

The Stock Altered class title would be taken by Ralph Lauffer,  making the haul from Greeley, Colorado to take the win.  Lauffer would also claim the top spot in the Super Stock Class, aboard his high winding, alcohol burning machines.

In Motorcycle Class competition, Tyler Van Beber would power his Case bodied entry into the top spot.  In Outlaw Class competition, Steve Hovind would debut his new 'Spike' entry, and would take the top honors with his turbocharged diesel powered machine.  Jeff Van Beber would pilot his Colorado entry into the runnerup spot.  Ralph Lauffer would post a podium finish, scoring third place on the day.

In Mini Rod Class, David Houchen would score the victory, aboard his 'Back In The Day' tractor.  Jerry Toland would take a wild ride out of bounds, aboard his 'Shinin Time' machine, limiting his scoring to a runnerup finish in the wild and entertaining class.

In Super Rod, the wild runs would continue on the biting track, with Ken Langham Sr. posting a Full Pull to close the show and take the victory aboard his 'Psycho' tractor.  Ken Langham Jr. would post a Full Pull aboard his 'Sneaky Snake' machine, to post a runnerup finish aboard his Ford powered tractor, and secure a one-two finish for the Longhorn Express Pulling Team out of Bonham.  John Kiemele would finish on the podium with two great runs, aboard his beautiful 'Dodge This' machine, taking third place in the field.

LSGTPA 2018 SEASON OPENER SET FOR COOPER

The 2018 LSGTPA tractor pulling season is set to kickoff with opening day scheduled for April 14th, in Cooper, Texas !!  LSGTPA teams from throughout the state will converge on Harmon Park in Cooper, to open the season with two rounds of pulling action on the Delta County Fair Pulling Track.  Action is set to commence at 2pm, with our National Anthem performance by Kristi Oats.

Held as a feature event of the Delta County Fair, the event will kickoff a series of pulls scheduled for the spring of the LSGTPA 2018 season.

LSGTPA 2017 Champions Crowned

The Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association 2017 season has concluded, with the champions crowned in each of ten classes of competiton.  The ten event season featured two double header contests, and included eight cities on the 2017 LSGTPA tour.

The LSGTPA Youth Class title would be awarded to Jacob Hovind and the Mean Green Pulling Team from Princeton, Texas.  The team would utilize several drivers, to post four wins on the season, scoring the championship crown aboard the 'Yes Deere' machine.

The LSGTPA Stock Class title would be earned by Claude Lewis of Ravenna, Texas.  Claude would post a five win season effort, aboard his 'Old Yeller' tractor.  The Cub Cadet 126 tractor features a Kohler engine, spinning Carlisle Super Lug tires. 

The 2017 LSGTPA Hot Stock Class champion crown would be earned by Madison Pellerin, aboard her 'Instigator' machine.  Madison would post a dominating seven win season during the 2017 series, to score the championship crown in her first full season of competition.

The Stock Diesel Class 2017 Championship title would be taken by Patrick Bramlett and the PB&J Pulling Team.  Bramlett would use a six win season to take the class title, aboard his award winning 'Warthog' machine.  The Cub Cadet 782D tractor features a military theme, utilizing features and images reflecting the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft, used by the US Airforce.

The LSGTPA Big Stock Class title would belong to Jerry Toland, and his 'Triple Deuce' number 222 machine.  Toland would post five wins during the season, to take the top spot in the field.  Jerry fields two tractors in competition from Bryan, Texas, and would double up in 2017 with two championship titles.

The high winding Stock Altered Class championship title would belong to Michael Mayberry of Sequin, Texas in 2017.   Mayberry would score two wins enroute to his class title, aboard his 'Pulling For Peanuts' machine.  The twin cylinder, alcohol burning machine features a Cub Cadet chassis and drive train.  

The LSGTPA Super Stock Class title for 2017, would belong to Ralph Lauffer of Fort Collins, Colorado.  Lauffer competes within several pulling organizations across multiple states, and would use a three win season to score his first Texas class title.

The 2017 LSGTPA Outlaw Class Championship crown would be worn by Paul Smith, of Morgans Point Resort, Texas.  Smith would wheel his crowd favorite, 'Texan', to a seven win season to earn the class title.  The award winning 'Texan' tractor, features a high winding Suzuki GSXR for power.

The LSGTPA Mini Rod Class Championship title would belong to Jerry Toland, who would double up in 2017 with two class championships.  Toland would pilot his popular 'Shinin Time' tractor to the win in Mini Rod Class, using five wins and two runnerup finishes in ten events, to secure the crown.  The alcohol fueled tractor is powered by a 2.3 Ford four cylinder, and features a vintage Hilborn fuel injection system.

The LSGTPA Super Rod Class title would be taken by Ken Langham, Sr. of Bonham, Texas.  Langham and his Longhorn Express Pulling Team field multiple tractors, and would pilot his 'Psycho' machine into the top spot in the Super Rod Class.  The Bonham Service Center backed team would use Chevrolet power to take the top spot in the class.

During the 2017 LSGTPA awards program, the club would honor the Armed Forces Veterans of the pulling teams.  Veterans in attendance included Richard Duncan, Claude Lewis, John Kiemele, John Aufdenkamp, Jerry Toland, Ken Langham Sr, and Patrick Bramlett.

LSGTPA pulling teams would roll into Sulphur Springs, Texas for the final event of the 2017 pulling season, contested under the lights of the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center stadium.  Held as a feature of annual Help-A-Child-Benefit event, the tractor pull would cap a full day of activities, including a chili cook-off, BBQ contest, antique tractor pull, and an auction.  The fundraising event has donated proceeds approaching two hundred thousand dollars, since 2008. 

Youth Class competitors would take to the sandy arena track first, with Kaden Wilbur scoring a win aboard the 'Yes Deere' tractor, for the Mean Green Pulling Team camp.  Lane Duncan would post a runnerup finish aboard his 'Twisted Kitty' machine.  Duncan would also place his 'Texas T-Rex' tractor on the podium, with a third place finish in the class.  Jared Stephan would wheel his 'Iron Head' tractor into the fourth place spot, with Cody Doyle piloting his 'Old Yeller' tractor into the top five.  Kaden Wilbur would place his 'Ugly Duckling' machine, in the sixth place position, to round out the field of tough Youth Class competitors.

In Stock Class competition, Kody Langham would wheel his Longhorn Express Pulling Team entry into the top spot, with Claude Lewis taking the runnerup spot aboard his 'Old Yeller' machine.  In Hot Stock, Steve Bowerman would use on opening round Full Pull on the 160 foot track, to secure the victory.  John Aufdenkamp would place his 'Rusteze' tractor in the runnerup spot for the Outlaw Pulling Team.  Mason Hovind would steer his 'Yes Deere' tractor onto the third place podium position.

In Stock Diesel, Patrick Bramlett would take the win aboard his 'Warthog' tractor, with Aidan Hovind pulling his 'Buckshot' machine into the runnerup spot.  In Big Stock, Kody Langham would double up on the night, with a win aboard his 'Texas Thunder' entry.  Jerry Toland would score the runnerup, with his 'Triple Deuce' machine.  John Aufdenkamp would take the third place position, with Gary Bramlett scoring a fourth place finish aboard his 'Amuck' tractor. 

In Outlaw Class competition, hired gun Jerry Toland would pilot Paul Smith's 'Texan' tractor into the top spot.  In Mini Rod Class, David Houchen would take the victory aboard his 'Back In The Day' tractor, using two great pulls to secure the win.  Colby Crowe would pilot his high-winding  'Weekend Warrior' machine into the runnerup spot.  Jerry Toland would post a third place finish, aboard his alcohol burning 'Shinin Time' tractor.  Sarah Crowe would finish in fourth place, aboard her turbo charged '99% Moody' tractor, after drivetrain issues would sideline her tractor in the second round. 

The Super Rod Class tractors closed the event with a wild show.  Kody Langham would use a final round Full Pull, aboard his Ford powered 'Sneaky Snake' tractor, to take the victory.  Ken Langham, Sr. would score an opening round Full Pull, aboard his 'Psycho' machine, to pace the field.  Langham Sr. was on a great pass in the final round, in an attempt to match the 'Sneaky Snake', when the engine let go aboard his Chevrolet powered entry, just inches from the finish line and the lead.  The Longhorn Express Pulling Team would finish one-two in the class, just inches apart.  John Kiemele would use two great pulls aboard his 'Dodge This' tractor, to score a close third place podium finish in the class.  Randell Moody and his 'Ridge Runner' tractor would score a fourth place finish, with Rocky Young making his pulling debut aboard the machine as the final round pilot.

As part of the Help-A-Child-Benefit fundraising, a raffle was conducted for a welding trailer package, provided with the support of Faulk Company, Anchor Contracting, 5W Construction, Kearney Trailers, Air Gas, and others.  The LSGTPA Youth Class drivers were honored to draw the ten finalists names from the entries, with the grand prize awarded to Baylee Massey.

Founded in 1849 as a shipping point for cattle and bois d'arc posts, Farmersville, Texas has long been known as a hub for marketing agricultural products.  The community organized an Onion Festival for years, the roots of which have led to the current Old Time Saturday event, celebrated each October.  The Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association teams, have become a proud feature of the event, competing on a 200 foot track, just a stones throw from the downtown festivities.  As area farmers and families celebrate the end of harvest season, the pulling teams enter the final stretch of the 2017 LSGTPA Championship season. With valuable points and class titles on the line, competitors would thrill the crowd with two rounds of exciting LSGTPA tractor pulling action.

Opening ceremonies would feature an outstanding National Anthem performance, delivered by Sydnee Hawkins.  Pastor Rick Emmert would deliver the opening prayer.
The LSGTPA Youth Class competitors would take to the hard packed track first, with Jacob Hovind taking his 'Yes Deere' entry to the win.  Cody Doyle would wheel his 'Old Yeller' tractor into the runnerup spot, with Jared Stephan placing his 'Iron Head' machine on the podium in third place.  Lane Duncan would score a fourth place finish aboard his 'Twisted Kitty' tractor, with Kaden Wilbur pulling to a top five finish aboard his 'Ugly Duckling' machine.  Seth Wilbur would score a sixth place finish on the day, with Lane Duncan posting a seventh place scoring aboard his 'Texas T-Rex', which suffered drive train issues during the opening round.

In Outlaw Class, Paul Smith would ride his 'Texan' tractor into the top spot, scoring a Full Pull in the opening round.  Steve Pierce would place his 'Buzzards Roost' machine in the runnerup position on the leader board.  In a wild Mini Rod Class showdown, Colby Crowe would take the win aboard his 'Weekend Warrior' tractor.  David Houchen would take the runnerup spot, aboard his 'Back In The Day' machine.  Sarah Crowe would wheel her '99% Moody', turbocharged diesel tractor,  onto the podium in third place.  Jerry Toland would steer his 'Shinin Time' tractor to a fourth place finish in the class. 

The crowd pleasing Super Rod Class tractors would close the show, with Ken Langham using a Full Pull to score the win, aboard his Chevrolet powered  'Psycho' machine.  John Kiemele would use two great pulls from his Chrysler powered machine, to place his 'Dodge This' tractor in the runnerup spot.  Ken Langham, Jr. would pilot his Ford powered 'Sneaky Snake', to a strong finish for a third place posting.  Randell Moody would take the 'Ridge Runner' machine, to a fourth place finish for the Moody Pulling Team.

LSGTPA OLD TIME SATURDAY TRACTOR PULL Set for FARMERSVILLE

LSGTPA teams will roll into Farmersville, Texas on Saturday, October 7th, for a pivotal event of the 2017 Championship Series.  Teams from across the state and surrounding area will converge on Rike Street Park, for two rounds of exciting LSGTPA tractor pulling.

Over 30 teams are expected to compete, as the 2017 LSGTPA Championship titles for each of ten classes are up for grabs.  The Farmersville event is the next to last event in the season, and most classes are still undecided.  Drivers and machines will be pushed to their limits at this event, as the final push for 2017 Championships will be in full swing.

Opening ceremonies are set for a high noon start, featuring Texas performing artist Sydnee Hawkins with our National Anthem presentation.

Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association teams rolled into Blue Ridge, Texas for the eighth stop of the LSGTPA 2017 Championship Series.  Teams from across the state converged on the blackland prairie town, to battle for class titles in two rounds of exciting tractor pulling action. 

Originally named Pull 'N Tug until 1860, Blue Ridge is home to the 16th Texas Cavalry, the Blue Ridge Tigers, and Cattlemans Café.  The blackland prairie surface made for a very tricky track surface for the LSGTPA pull and tug competition, as pulling teams found plenty of traction during the opening round.  The very well prepared track had sufficient moisture, to provide a very sticky surface, which allowed pullers to put down as much power as they could, with some wild results.

Opening the show would be the LSGTPA Youth Class competitors.  Lane Duncan would pilot his 'Twisted Kitty' into the top spot with the victory.  Brandon Stewart would steer the 'Yes Deere' tractor to the runnerup position, with Lane Duncan wheeling his 'Texas T-Rex' tractor onto the podium in third.  Jared Stephan would ride his 'Iron Head' machine into the fourth place position for the Moody Pulling Team.  Rinn Mayberry would debut his new tractor, pulling to a top five finish.  Kaden Wilbur would post a sixth place finish aboard his 'Ugly Duckling' tractor, with Noah Moody pulling to a seventh place finish.  Seth Wilbur would post an eighth place finish in a very tough field of Youth Class pullers.

In OEM Stock Class, Kody Langham would take the victory for the Longhorn Express Pulling Team.  Claude Lewis would wheel his 'Old Yeller' tractor into the runnerup position, with Steve McCarley posting a third place podium finish.

In Hot Stock Class, Madison Bowerman would use two great passes to place her 'Instigator' tractor in the top spot.  John Aufdenkamp would wheel his Outlaw Pulling Team entry into the runnerup position, less than four feet behind the leader.  Aidan Hovind would pilot his 'Yes Deere' tractor into the third place position for the Mean Green Pulling Team camp.  Kody Langham would place his Bonham Service Center entry into the fourth place position on the night. 

Stock Diesel Class action would see Patrick Bramlett taking the title, aboard his 'Warthog' machine.  The A-10 Thunderbolt themed tractor would use a Full Pull in the final round, to seal the win.  Aidan Hovind would place his 'Buck Shot' diesel tractor, into the runnerup position in the smoker class.  In Big Stock, Patrick Bramlett would double up on the night, placing his 'A Muck' tractor in the top spot.  Jerry Toland would wheel his 'Triple Deuce' machine into the runnerup spot, with Kody Langham working his way into the third place podium position for the BSC Team.  John Aufdenkamp would place his Outlaw Pulling Team entry in fourth. 

The Stock Altered Class title would be taken by Michael Mayberry, aboard his high winding 'Pulling For Peanuts' tractor from Seguin, Texas.  In Outlaw Class competition, Paul Smith would take the class title aboard his 'Texan' tractor, from Morgans Point Resort.  Steve Pierce would take the runnerup spot, aboard his 'Buzzards Roost' machine, after suffering driveline breakage in the opening round.  Steve Hovind would debut his new 'Bad Idea' turbo diesel machine, posting a third place podium finish in the class. 

The Mini Rod Class put on a great show, with Jerry Toland taking the win aboard his 'Shinin Time' machine.  Colby Crowe would pilot his 'Weekend Warrior' tractor to the runnerup position, with two great passes on the sticky track.  David Houchen would place his 'Back In The Day' machine on the podium in third.  Sarah Crowe would wheel her turbocharged,  '99% Moody' machine, to a fourth place finish.

Super Rod Class tractors would close out a great show, with Ken Langham Sr. taking the crown aboard his 'Psycho' tractor, using two wild passes to seal the deal.  Steve McCarley made two consistent pulls to combine for the runnerup honors aboard his 'Scat Cat' machine.  Ken Langham, Jr. would score a Full Pull aboard his 'Sneaky Snake' tractor, on a great final round pull, to post a third place podium finish.  Randell Moody would place his 'Ridge Runner' tractor in fourth place for the Moody Pulling Team.  Stetson Bowerman would debut a new Chevrolet LS powered tractor, with drive train issues limiting the team to a top five finish.  John Kiemele would take a wild ride out of bounds on the tricky track surface, with the boundary infraction resulting in a DQ and a sixth place posting for his 'Dodge This' tractor.
